Though the band didn't achieve much success in America but they enjoyed huge popularity internationally. It was particularly true in Japan. Ford started her own heavy-metal career after the disbandment of her group in 1979. She took vocal lessons and released her first solo album 'Out for Blood'. The album was and then followed it with 'Dancin' at the Edge'. Ford was absent from the scene for a few years following both albums failing to garner much acclaim. Her smashing album, 'Lita" which came out in 1988 saw her come back with an explosion. The lead single "Kiss My Deadly" as well as the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever" were huge hit songs. Her success was not long-lasting, as she disappeared for a number of years. The year 1995 saw her release "Black," and fifteen years later 'Wicked Wonderland. The most recent album "Time Capsule" was launched in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine gave her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
